Woody Returns

by Patti on June 10, 2009

I am so happy to say that Vermont Stage Company is restaging Woody Guthrie’s American Song, to be performed this summer at the fabulous, newly renovated Middlebury Town Hall Theater. I am hugely honored to have been asked to act as Musical Director again, as well as acting and singing in the show. Rehearsals are underway. The cast is as incredible as last time, and the music is already sounding terrific. We’ve added bassist Noah Hahn and actors Mike Circe (recently seen in VSC’s production of Prelude to a Kiss) and Tony Roach of New York City to the cast. Mark Nash is directing. There couldn’t be a more professional or fun crew to work with, and I am STOKED.

This show, performed in February of 2007, ran a sold-out week at the FlynnSpace. It promises to do the same again in this beautiful old theater. Interest is high, and there’s a huge buzz over in Addison County, hometown of yours truly. Brett Hughes (former cast member) and I played at a party for supporters of the Theater a few weeks ago, and our sense was that the community is very excited to have this professional stage production at their venue. If you’re thinking of going, contact Vermont Stage Company early to reserve tickets, as they will no doubt go very fast.

Don’t miss this show. It’s gonna be wicked.
